I found the below story, beautifully written by Colleen Wilson, from the excellent website, Hello Grief, to be uplifting.

As we all continue with our quest to find a healing place for our grief feelings, I hope that each of us is able to find our own moments of grace.

As many grieving people know, keeping a loved one’s memory alive after they die can be a difficult task. There are many images, voices, smells and memories that you want to remember forever, but each day it can become a … Read More

Steve Jobs

I didn’t always understand the impact of the products Steve Jobs enthusiastically developed for his cutting edge company, Apple, but what I admired about Steve Jobs was his tenacity. He just never quit. He never quit battling cancer and he never quit inventing new tecky products that we didn’t realized we needed until we got his incredible Apple products in our hands.  Take an Apple iPod.  I can’t run or sit on my stationary bicycle without my iPod and I know lots of people who can’t live without their Macs! The way his mind worked was fascinating.  Talk about using… Read More

This story addresses children and pets but I think it also pertains to adults…Love the pictures! Animal Attraction Why kids adore animals and what they can learn from all creatures, great and small By Gail F. Melson Ph.D From Parent & Child Magazine A whirling 4 year old comes to a screeching halt, transfixed by the fish swimming lazily around an aquarium in the pediatrician’s waiting room. A 6 year old, home from school, showers the family dog with hugs and kisses before saying hi to Mom. A 10 year old chooses her gerbil, Misty, as the subject of her… Read More

A Positive Quality of Life

Photo by Eileen Milner Since living a healthy life is all about being positive, I thought the following sentiments would be a good way to start the day!  A friend saw the below inspiration on one of her friend’s Facebook page and I think it’s definitely worth sharing: Someone once said, “There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and  people who create it.   You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who… Read More

A Wedding Shower

A Silver Tea Set Stands Ready Two gleaming, freshly polished silver tea sets sit in my house right now, waiting in anticipation of my niece’s bridal shower this Sunday.  Originally, the sets belonged to my grandmothers and each set is as different as the woman who owned them.  They now belong to my Mom and she generously agreed to let me borrow them for this special family event. I loved both of my grandmothers, Nana and Gammy, and it’s a tender feeling to see the tea sets resting in their new and temporary locations.  I knew my Mom’s mother very… Read More

An Online Chatting Momento

September 21st, 2011

Courtesy of Good Magazine You’re online and you decide you want to chat.  It’s a normal, casual thing that lots of people regularly do.  It saves time and money and you don’t think too much about what you’re saying to the other person except that you keep it brief.  Blah, blah, blah…..blah, blah, blah. Yet is online chatting really as casual as you think? It’s popular now for people to save their chat records just as they save copies of their email correspondence or a voice message left on an answering machine. This is a new concept for me because… Read More
