Fashion Designer Kate Spade/Photo Courtesy of Variety “Oh My God.  Have you heard about Kate Spade?” “I’m so sad and mad about the Kate Spade news.  How could she do that?” “Wow. I just heard about Kate Spade.  Unbelievable.” Kate Spade’s recent and surprising death is a tragedy on so many levels: that she lost her battle with depression and sadly committed suicide, that she left behind a daughter who is at the tender age of 13 and that we will no longer be the enthusiastic recipients of her amazing talents as the uber-popular fashion designer of purses, jewelry, shoes… Read More

Walking also gives me a sense of accomplishing something…if only to exercise my needy body! As I walked in the chilly outdoors yesterday (it is April right?), I let my mind wander while taking in the much needed change of scenery, trying… Read More

The Comfort of A Snowy Street

Mother Nature delivered a surprising day of snow last week. On the second day of Spring, she decided to ignore the calendar and do what she wanted. The nation’s Capital received about 5 inches of wet, slushy and heavy to shovel snow that initially was magical but then quickly became work. In my neighborhood, I am lucky.  As soon as the snow flakes stop falling, everyone comes outside to shovel and when they are finished shoveling their property, they look to see who they can help in clearing away winter’s wonder. As you can imagine, the men are very serious… Read More
