Today I choose to be positive and constructive.
What does that mean?
It means I am going to adopt and hang on to a beach mentality for as long as I can.  Every day at the beach I pack up my things and go and find a treasured spot to hang out.  Sometimes my friends are there first and sometimes I get there first.  But we stake out our spot in the warm and welcoming sand and the day just slowly rolls out and evolves.  We talk about nothing in particular, we read for awhile, we test out the ocean and it’s daily currents and temperatures and then we decide it’s time to eat.
The whole wonderful routine has a life all of its’ own.
Then we leave the beach for the evening and let the ocean do what it does best:  prepare for the next day.
Beach life teaches me that life is going to happen and I can be hopeful or I can stir up stress within myself.  I can choose to confront the daily waves of life head on (OUCH!) or I can learn to navigate and ride them safely to shore so that I can then play in the sand and maybe gain a new perspective on what has happened to me.
Each day, every one of us has the opportunity and the power to follow a hopeful path or give in to the stress and drama around us.
How are you participating in your life?
