Today I reluctantly come back to the real world.

I have been living as Beach Bum Girl for the past week and loving every minute of it.  To say that the beach is my Happy Place is an understatement.  Every year I return to the same beach with family and friends so that I may slow down and embrace the simple and beautiful ways of living near the shore.

Hopefully a vacation of some sort is in your summer plans.  We all need to spend time away from our work routines and relax because it’s important for maintaining good … Read More

Hi there Resilient Readers! I’ve been off the grid for a bit and recently returned home from being on much needed vacation.  I must say that I absolutely adored every lazy minute of it! Photo By Ryan O’Toole Chances are you have or are about to have the opportunity to take some time off for yourself this summer and move into a chill out zone.  Whether we travel anywhere or not, we all need down time to refresh and renew ourselves. Ding! Ding! She’s. Going. To. The. Beach! Right away, I began to feel the symptoms of an incurable condition called “Beach Fever.” My friend’s news dovetailed perfectly with the recent warming of the sun in Washington, DC (predicted 82 degrees today!) and turning the calendar to the mojo… Read More

Art by Sandy Gingras I love Sandy Gingras because she is a beach woman just like me!!!! She understands the magical pull of the ocean, the sand and the sun and her whimsical art reflects the need that a lot of us feel. I am happy to be at the beach any time of the year.  Even when it’s winter and it’s freezing outside, I still think about the ocean a lot.  I need to listen to the cleansing sound of the waves and feel the wind on my face.  Our family went to the ocean for a few days… Read More
