You have to speak
Your dream out loud.
               ~ Kelly Corrigan

Today is good news about holding on to your dreams and never giving up on them.

At the beginning of this year, I wrote about a dream of mine: to upgrade my kitchen

And guess what?  It is finally happening!!

True to Kelly Corrigan’s inspirational saying above, I kept talking about it, researching it, saving for it and finally reached the point of giving the project a green light.  It’s been a bit scary watching the kitchen be totally demolished (I haven’t had a working oven, refrigerator or dishwasher for over a month) and taken down to the floor but now that the amazing results are finally being put together, I am really happy to say that it is turning out just as I pictured in my head.

I have lived in my house for almost eighteen years and have never liked the way kitchen looked.  Why don’t I like my kitchen?  Oh let me count the ways!  To just name a few: none of the cabinets matched so I painted them white, the light over the sink hardly ever worked, there isn’t enough counter space, and the counter I do have is scratched up and damaged.

I never got around to this project before because hospital bills, tuition bills and other living costs always got in the way.  Until this year!!

Flash forward to September 2014 and now the work is being done and I thought I would share a few pictures with you.  I hope you don’t mind!!

So whatever your dreams may be, big or small, hold on to them and see them through.  It may take some time before they become reality, but it is so worth the work and the wait!!!

Here's the old kitchen (sorry for the mess)

I’m so so so happy for you!!! These posts show in such a tangible way that dreams do come true when you commit to them and make them real. If you put positive energy out in the universe, your dreams can and will come back to you.

Hooray for you A kitchen is such a place of solace, creativity and love as we create things that are nurturing for ourselves and nearest and dearest. It’s also the place we stash the chocolate, the Cheetos
and other things we’re not supposed to eat but that’s all part of its charm.

    This is huge. Enjoy it.

Annie it is huge! Given the amount of time we spend in our kitchens, we should take at least love to look at them. Now I do love looking at the new cabinets, new counter and new dishwasher!! It’s amazing that the image I had in my head of the way I wanted my kitchen to look is now a reality. Thanks so much!! Hope all is well with you!!
