Elmer’s Fresh Veggies Sadly, my vacation has come to an end and as I drive home I’m thinking about and running through my head all the fun and relaxing  things that I had a chance to do: eating delicious steamed crabs at Mickey’s, swimming in the ocean, sleeping in, finishing a powerful book titled Mary’s Mosaics, shopping at the outlets and hanging out with great friends. If you watched NBC’s The Voice this past season, then I’m sure you are familiar with the amazing singing talents of Pip. Pip, short for Phillip, was a finalist on NBC’s hit series, The Voice, and Adam Levine, lead vocalist for the Grammy-award winning pop rock band, Maroon 5, was Pip’s coach during the prime time competition program. I recently became familiar with the term YOLO.  My son used it in his graduation speech and I had to sheepishly ask him afterwards what it meant.  “Mom, you know, it means ‘You Only Live Once’!” Of course I know the phrase, “You Only Live Once” and have heard it at least a million times, but I don’t think of it as YOLO. As many times as I have been to the FRESHFARM markets near the White House to treat myself to the real flavors (or the real flava as my friends like to joke) of the farm fresh produce, I have never tried a Pleasant Pop.  Usually I set a certain amount of money to spend on the beautiful seasonal fruits and veggies sold each week by the local farmers and when the money’s gone, so am I.
