Halloween arrives this weekend and it brings back very fond memories of me and my husband taking our son out to trick or treat in different neighborhoods and watching him run from door to door with his friends, so excited and amazed to be getting free candy!
I remember all of his costumes, some of which I made myself (Thomas The Tank Engine and Simba) and some that I bought at the store (Cookie Monster and Ninja Warrior).
The cute, cute, cute picture above is of one of my son’s first Halloweens. He loved his Spider Man pajamas so much we let him think it was a costume!
This year I will probably low key it and stay home to give out candy to the children in my neighborhood. And once the sun sets and the bewitchery begins, I love it when the little boy and girl who live next door arrive on my doorstep with their friends, yelling “Trick or Treat!” before I even open the door. I have known them since they were toddlers and it’s a lot of fun to see what they will wear for costumes each year.
Halloween also reminds me of popping a big bowl of popcorn and snuggling up on the couch to watch Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown is a must at Halloween and at Christmas!
Just for a little bit more of Halloween fun, here is a short yet amusing clip where Linus explains The Great Pumpkin to Charlie Brown.
Happy Halloween and I hope you and your family and friends have a safe and wicked evening, no matter what or who you are dressed up as!
