Today is Earth Day and I give thanks to Mother Nature for her endless gifts.

As we turn our focus on cleaning up and protecting the environment, events in Washington, DC (cleaning up the Anacostia River) and communities around the globe are being held today to remind us that our natural resources are precious and finite and shouldn’t be taken for granted.  When we take better care of Mother Earth, she takes better care of us, giving us tranquil beauty and continual inspiration.
Nature also has the incredible capability to heal us: the fragrance of a flower, the cleansing sound … Read More

Hi Dear Friends! Yesterday I went for my annual eye exam and of course the doctor dilated my eyes.  I now have to use eye drops three to four times a day.  One is a prescription drop and the other is an over-the-counter brand.  I am just getting used to this new routine and I am finding that it’s a lot of drops to have rolling down my face.  Better get some water-proof mascara right? Needless to say, computer time has been temporarily shortened but today I still wanted to post some thoughts about healing and managing life’s wacky stresses.… Read More

“Get a life. A real life, not a manic pursuit of the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, the larger house. Do you think you’d care so very much about those things if you blew an aneurysm one afternoon, or found a lump in your breast? Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze over Seaside Heights, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over the water gap or the way a baby scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a cheerio with her… Read More

It’s been an emotional week with Election Day happening on Tuesday and all of its rollercoaster effects still going on.  I know I am getting older because I stayed up until 2 am on Tuesday night to watch the election results and most of the candidate speeches and I am still recovering from it.  It’s sad but true! How are you fairing? So I thought it would be fun to end the week with some soulful music because listening to tunes always feeds the soul and heals the heart. This is an oldie, a flash from the past as they… Read More

It’s Labor Day Weekend and that means that some of us are recalibrating and getting ready for the beginning of a new season.  Chrysanthemums, pumpkins and school supplies are already pushing their way into the stores. Do your remember the Seals and Crofts classic song, Summer Breeze?  I can hear the screened… Read More

A June Morning

Memories Look At Me By Tomas Transtromer A June morning, too soon to wake, too late to fall asleep again. I must go out — the greenery is dense with memories, they follow me with their gaze. They can’t be seen, they merge completely into the background, true chameleons. They are so close that I can hear them breathe though the birdsong is deafening.… Read More

This quote from author/artist Sandy Gingras          makes me happy ……….. “At the beach, life is different.  A day moves not from hour to hour but leaps from mood to moment.   We go with the currents, plan around the tides, follow the sun.” I hope it makes you happy too because it’s sooooo true!… Read More
