A brand new fresh and clean calendar is amazing, yes?
2015 is here and as I flip through my new calendar, I’m excited to see a new year of endless possibilities, a year of new opportunities just waiting for me and you; days where we can make the first moves, put our plans into motion and make our dreams become reality.

I don’t make resolutions for the New Year because I find that taking each day as it comes and trying to do my best works for me. But that’s just me. Maybe resolutions help keep you on track so go for it!
This feeling of looking forward to 365 days not yet lived reminds me of a truly beautiful song with unforgettable lyrics, Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. I think the theme behind this poetic song is similar to the unrealized potential of a new blank calendar and my favorite lyrics from the song reinforce the sense of future possibilities that comes with a New Year:
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is, where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten.
So here’s to taking our new calendars and writing our best lives. To grabbing opportunities. taking chances and following our passions!!
My best wishes always and Happy New Year to my wonderful Resilient Readers!!

Unwritten – Natasha Bedingfield
I am unwritten
Can’t read my mind
I’m undefined
I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else
No one else, can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is, where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten, Yeah
Oh, Ooh
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines, Yeah-Yeah
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can’t live that way, Oh No
Staring, at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else
No one else, can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is, where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring, at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions, Oh-Whoa (Whoa)
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else
No one else, can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is, where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in, no one else
No one else, can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is, where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten (Oh, Oh Whoa, Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
The rest is still unwritten (Oh, Oh Whoa, Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
(Oh, Oh Whoa, Oh-Oh-Oh-Oh)
