Oh My Goodness!  Have I missed you guys or what?

I am so happy to be back and writing my heart out for Cry Laugh Heal.  I have to give a huge shout out to two fantastic, truly helpful guys: Chris Yoko of Yoko Co. in Fairfax, Virginia and Nico Dodd of Washington, DC!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK AND ARE TRULY THE BEST!!!!!!  Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover what you did to bring Cry Laugh Heal back into business.

I have had my head down for at least the past month, slogging my way through some kind of Word Press nightmare and now I am pretty much out of it but only because of Chris and Nico.  They patiently held my hand and walked me through what needed to be done to transfer Cry Laugh Heal from Blogger to Word Press.  As you can see, I still have a lot of work to do but that’s okay.  I’m finally on the right track and it feels great!

calm

I have to admit there were many, many days when I just felt miserable.  I missed my readers and I missed posting on a regular basis.  But I couldn’t focus on writing if I had tech work to do and believe me I had a lot of tech work.  I take a lot of pride in writing about grief and resilience, sharing my experiences and other resources that I hope will help others.  Unfortunately, when I started reconstruction of Cry Laugh Heal, it all fell apart.  For the first week or two, I was working my butt off and I couldn’t seem to make progress.  It felt as though I was just banging my head against the wall over and over. Definitely not good!

This process did show me how much Cry Laugh Heal is a part of my life.  As I told Nico: “For better or worse, I am the blog.  The blog is me .”

You know the saying that it takes a village to raise a child?  Well, this challenge also taught me that I had to find my village.  I had to reach out even when I didn’t feel like it and I couldn’t give up on my desire to update the look and feel of Cry Laugh Heal.  I  just couldn’t give up.  There may be situations in your life where you think you might want to stop trying and you might think that it would be easier to give up but then where are if you do give up?  Do you think these situations will improve on their own?  I have discovered that if you really, really want to achieve something or work through problems, then you have to do the hard work towards making it happen.

It’s not easy and sometimes it’s painful and frustrating.  If you begin to feel overwhelmed, walk away from it and take a break.  Perhaps you can sleep on it and wake up the next day feeling as though you can go at it again.

Speak the words over and over to yourself that will help you build confidence.

Keep going.  It will happen.

We can help each other.

I’m glad you made it through the WordPress slog – it is worth it I think, once we get the hang of it! Thanks for the inspiration. Look forward to reading more.
